I've had anesthesia many times (too many times) four or five times via IV and once or twice with gas for various surgical operations. (Yeah, my health sucks.) I've never had any problems from the anesthesia though. You'll wake up very dry, your mouth will feel like a desert, but that's about the worst of it. I would imagine the pain you'll have from your back will probably be your main concern.
Depending on the operation being performed you might be out of it for several hours. I know for a couple of surgeries I had on my lungs - they were done in the morning and I didn't wake up until evening.

I would have a difficult time spending money at Home Depot, the thought of founder Bernie Marcus just creeps me out.
Maybe I should educate myself. What is the scoop? Where I used to live in Minnesota I shopped at Menards. In Houston mostly it's Lowes or HD.

Reserving judgement for two reasons.
Region lock.
Reportedly very very poor viewing angles when 3D is enabled. Most of previews from the show seemed to suggest they had to turn the 3d off, and there are many reports of headaches.
Don't see point in buying a 3D console if you have to turn the 3D off the majority of the time.
That being said, I'll probably end up getting one at some point, but maybe not launch.

Interesting thought though. His rejection said it was for ridiculing public figures, but their policy rejects defamatory material. There is certainly a fine line, but the line most certainly exists. You can ridicule someone till the cows come home without engaging in defamation. The distinction is probably too difficult for anyone without extensive legal background to make on a regular basis and in a timely manner.
Apple should just drop the defamation clause, which may be difficult for them to do to.
I'd say Fiore flirts with that line often enough, Pulitzer winner or no. I don't know the legal technicalities, but I would think Apple would do themselves a favor by letting the lawyers figure out what's defamation and what isn't. I can't see how they could be held responsible for someone else's words, but I'm not a lawyer.

As ITR 81 already mentioned, they are already often selling at below their cost to attract customers. They don't have any room to go lower unless the studios drop their prices.

Why are there so many Negative votes? An update to Aperture is a very good thing for photographers. If all these voters are people who were hoping for a MacBook Pro update, that doesn't quality you voting an Aperture update thread as negative. Big deal... the notebooks didn't get updated. Move along.
I really wish Apple offered a trial of Aperture on their Web site. I would love to try it out sometime.

hell i think apple created the POD name in popular imagination.
they need to protect the product brand name POD from being brought down in value by companies like PODFITNESS and others, that use their name in it.

I can't download it, the "Download Mac Client" is just gray. Is it becaus i live in Europe?
Only the US client went live last week
the EU one was delayed for extra testing on the servers.
official dude on the blizzard forums said they hoped to release the EU client last night - but in the end he came back and said it would probably be today (Tuesday) instead.
But, seeing as they work West Coast USA time, that might mean it's unlikely to become available to us until the middle of the night tonight
i tried the pc client under boot camp - looked great, was a real buzz to playing the old game again with such nice graphics

Just get it over with and allow variable screen sizes.
Apple's had resolution independence implemented in one form or another since Tiger, but it was only available for developers. I wouldn't hold my breath that they suddenly decide, 4 years later, that it should be released.

If you are "export to quicktime" than no that sounds extremely long. If you are doing a "quicktime conversion" export it all depends on what codec you are going to. If you are going to h264 it sound spot on.
To speed up my h264 exports I use an Elgato Turbo.264 HD hardware encoder to speed things up.

I could only dream about the "high" US Prices here in Germany. We pay about 1,50 € (2,09 $)/ Liter 98. That is around 5,70 € (7,95 $) / US Gallon. 3 weeks ago it was almost 10cent/liter higher though, so I call myself lucky.

Damn, if it has the same graphics engine as the ipad 2 rendering'll be a bit more than the 9x faster than the iPhone 4 (lower pixel count)
What the heck are people going to do with that sort of performance? That'll bring AR to a whole new level. 2x overall speed increase? It's already plenty fast. It's going to be a bit ridiculous - at this rate the network bottleneck is going to get even worse.

Personally I much prefer Lightroom. There's way too much wrong with RAW workflow in Aperture.
I would agree we've been using both tools here at work and Lightroom is winning us over here on OSX..of course..:o)....I'm dissapointed no MPB....
im' almost 90% going to get a core2 duo PC..sorry Apple you've delayed the MBP update wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to long...plus you need to put alot more higher end cards in the MBP if you want to win over Power CAD....and 3D users....why have an media event like this just to release Aperature 1.5....pointless...(shakes head):confused:
