Well, The Travisa & Embassy web site recommends not to book tickets.
Travisa is very good in updating the status at each step. In my case, my son's US passport was submitted on a Friday to Indian Embassy and they processed on following Monday and returned to Travisa on Tuesday, Although Travisa updates, they shipped passport/pio to me on Tuesday, It left the facility only on Wednesday and I received next day.
I personally will wait till I secure the documents in hand before any travel arrangements.

Yes we got the card after a month.
It went to a place where we never lived not sure how it went there.
Anyway we didnt get the notices yet.
Just the card.

This is the website to check labor status at the BEC.

My case was filed in Nov 2001. In Oct 2006, the DOL stated that they lost my case (I did not receive a 45 day letter). So my lawyer reconstructed my labor and filed it again as per DOL's instruction. I received a 45 day letter in Apr 2007 which showed my case no. Since then I have been checking the case status online.

I sent the following:
1) Confirmation Receipt of application
2) Copy of I 485 receipt
3) Front and back copy of current EAD card
4) A copy of the cut out that the current EAD came in
I don't think you need anything else. If you look at it theoretically I-94 and passport, drivers license has nothing to do with an EAD card approval or denial.

I have a few questions on using AP-
1. I have a valid AP till Jan. 04, 2009. I have applied for a new AP in Sept. last week. Can I travel on my current AP which is valid till Jan. 04, 2009 or will I have any problems with I-485, since I cannot travel on current AP, because I have applied for a new one.
2. Next, suppose I travel on my valid AP (the one till Jan. 04, 2009) in November first week and return on Dec. 10, 2008, what date will I get I-84 till? Will I get it till Dec. 09, 2009 or till Jan. 04, 2008. Ofcourse, the officer will stamp 'Parolee' on I-94, but till what date?

Now that our PD dates will be current for more than 30 days (based on next months visa bulletin), can we use Odbumsman 7001 form
Or Can we expidetite the process, as when ever we call IO they give this BS explination saying that we can only expedite if your dates are current for more than 30 days and your file is still pending.

If these provisions are attached to the must-pass DHS bill, it will be nearly impossible to defeat them. To add to what logiclife said, even if you were to apply for a change of status, make sure your friend has been in the US for more than 60 days. If you apply for a change of status to H1B within 60 days of coming here, then it will deemed by USCIS that your intention to travel to US was to find a job and that you committed a fraud when you applied for a B2 which is a tourist visa. So if you apply within 60 days then USCIS will surely reject the application. It is true for almost all visas if you happen to apply for a change of status within 60 days of arriving in US.

My first term on H1 expired on June 2002. I revalidated it and the second term also got expired as of June 2004. Since I was in US only for 3 years on that H1, is it possible to revalidate it again now, even I'm not working for company A now? Company A can file for revalidation for recapturing the remaining time on H1 but you may to work with them once the H1B's gets approved..
