Since when did MR allow 12 year old trolls onto the forums?
Since Facebook dumbed down the human race. Or at least showed it to the world.

When I was deciding on getting a laptop, an HP Envy was suggested over the MacBook Pro 13 because it's supposedly just as good as a MacBook Pro.
Here's a video of an HP Envy along side a MacBook Pro 13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0eTnABVBgw
Just seeing all the problems with that piece of crap made me decide that I'll buy the Mac. :) But, why else do you expect from a cheap Windows PC??

i bet they had people there with MBA's from good schools running financial what if's and telling management to avoid digital because they will make less money due to not selling the film or anything other than the camera
Agreed. BTW: It's a shame how MacRumors has destroyed my perception of acronyms...at first I thought you meant Macbook Air (MBA). LOL...shows where my brain is

I'm saying that's my personal opinion. I know it's capable of playing games, but many people are disappointed about something that no one knows except maybe Apple or Intel.
Really? So if I buy a MBA, using your logic above, then one of the reasons I bought it was because it could play games. This is your opinion, your view of why some people buy a MBA. Just like what I said in my previous post was purely my personal opinion. Not dictation of anything. I'm sure many people agree with you and some that don't.
That's you. I simply stated how I personally use my computer. It's different for everybody. Not everybody is like me or you. Not everyone is a musician or creative artist. Of course, the backlit keyboard is a welcome addition. I never said anything against that.
That was the point of my post. I was trying to point out that different people will have different uses of a computer and have different skill levels. I was merely pointing out examples of the uses of a backlit kb (creative artists, users not as proficient in keyboarding) and the different audiences (gamers, portable users, media) that bought into an MBA.
Yea, I didn't mean to imply that users bought it generally because of gaming, but that it was just one reason that many users (certainly not all) did happen to buy it for. I myself didn't buy the Air for gaming purposes, though I found myself pleasantly surprised when squeezing in a game or two of Left 4 Dead on it. :)
And you explicitly said, and I quote you:
if you want to play games, then don't bother with the Air.
I don't know how else to interpret that. Unless of course you demand higher performance on newer games, then yea I would be inclined to agree with you. But I seem to read all the time on this forum that many users do in fact game on the Air and enjoy it. So why shouldn't they?

A car that gets 60 mpg will do just as much 'damage' to a road surface as a car that get 8 mpg....but the 50mpg car will pay much, MUCH less for upkeep of that road than the other in a gas-tax based situation.
so a prius does the same amount of damage to a road as full size RV?

So I am having my first surgical procedures in *looks at widget* 16 days, and the thing that scares me the most is the general anesthesia...
I've looked at sites about it, but they don't walk through the whole procedures and what you feel like after etc...
Is it all IV? Gas?
What do you feel like when you come to?
*scared*

http://www.macworld.com/news/2006/10/30/soundbooth/index.php
Macworld posted an article on the subject today. You can read it with the link above. I'm going to post a couple comments from the article by Adobe's John Nack.
Nack offers a different point of view. From his perspective, if Apple hadnt switched to Intel processors, Soundbooth might very likely be a Windows application only. Apples migration to the Intel chip architecture makes Mac development more attractive, said Nack.
Heres the reality: Apples migration to Intel chips means that its easier to develop for both Mac and Windows, because instead of splitting development resources optimizing for two different chip architectures, you can focus on just one, he wrote.
This is why the PowerPC machines need to go as quickly as everyone can buy an Intel machine. Making a intel only Mac Application is cheaper and less time consuming for the developer and is able to take advantage of any code optimization for the x86 platform. That makes it more likey that we'll get better software products and applications we normally wouldn't get. To be frank, developers had absolutely no reason to optimize PPC applications. The platform is too small to warrant it.
The follow snippet is something the platform as a whole should take note of. It should be pretty self explanatory.
Nack a professed die-hard Mac user also refers to that vocal little group of zealots and forum trolls he sees as particularly damaging to Mac users reputations as a whole.
Youre hurting the Mac platform. Youre hurting the Mac community. You need to crush a little aluminum foil against those antennae of yours, because youre hurting everyone concerned. Youre making it harder (and less appealing) for people of goodwill to make the effort to support the Mac, he said.

I'd much prefer it on DVD but a Flash Drive would be pretty neat. I'm hoping we'll get a new version of iWork to go with Lion so I can justify buying the Mac Pack.
Unlike a lot of people here, I use my DVD drive quite a bit. I burn mix CD's for my car and I prefer to buy retail software instead of downloads when possible.
If they were to remove it though across some of their lines, I'd hope Apple would use the extra space in the 13" for an AMD graphics card rather than an extra hard drive.

That's because there is no "L" sound in Japanese, and the "R" sound is what comes closest to the English "L" sound.
Is there something funny about that?

I felt the same way as Woz when the iPad was first announced. A great product for my wife but not for me, I need my macbook.
Then I was assigned to develop iPad apps and got one. My wife still doesn't have one, but I won't leave home without mine. I can remote into my home or work mac when needed, have all my music and video and docs with me always.
Sure, I won't write code on it but for pretty much everything else this is it. Basically it is a window into the world, erasable paper, portable media.
I've also got a blackberry, a windows phone, a Galaxy, a Dell Streak and a Xoom on my desk right now (and a Playbook on the way) and just can't understand how they all missed the mark when Apple has been showing them the way for the past year.
I've become a believer in the iPad.

Too early to quit dvd altogether:confused:
If its up to me to should throw that medium into the wastebin asap.
I agree, but the simple fact is that DVDs are still dirt cheap compared to USB drives. Give it a couple years. DVD is scheduled to be dust in 2015, anyway. Probably sooner if the price of 4 & 8 GB thumb drives become super-cheap.
Fear not: the thumb-drive IS the next media step unless some huge player in the industry pushes for something else.
BluRay will hang on until 2020, or whenever large GB thumb-drives are cheaper than such disks. The moment those chips are manufactured like Skittles, they'll cost nothing and be universal. Goodbye all mechanical garbage, please. (Aside from fans)

This is all they have now
MagSafe power port
Gigabit Ethernet port
Mini DisplayPort
Two USB 2.0 ports (up to 480 Mbps)
Audio in/out
Kensington lock slot
Audio in/out IS the "headset jack". You can plug in the iphone headset and the mac will recognize both the mic and headphones.
