Soylent Cocoa, now there's a thought, if we kill old Blacks first.
You don't think they would try again with the old jews this time?

AppleInsider claims that this 12 PB are used for iTunes Movies. Would be great, if the HD Movies got a better quality -> higher bit rate -> bigger file size

This is torture... I just wish Apple would send out invitations for another event and tell us themselves what it is that we will be seeing. Please, Apple?
it really matters that much to you? is it that big of a deal?

Hi everyone!
I like to listen to podcasts while im playing sc2 and alot of my podcasts are video's. Is there a way in itunes to play only the audio of the video podcasts (so the video isnt running in the background and potentially slowing my game down)?
Thanks for the help! :):apple:

Again, us Americans with our fake subsidy. Other countries are getting iPhones for free with contract. Lame.
Oh, and if people think T-Mobile is better, they increase the subsidized price of their G2 and myTouch 4G to $249 from $199 not too long ago.

Wow... this girl handmakes these stylish vinyl laptop bags that are sized for 12" and 15" Powerbooks. Probably most appealing to girls, but I'm thinking about getting one of the 15" ones and a shoulder strap.
A little on the pricey side, maybe? But totally one of a kind, and they're handmade, so you can't really complain.

a highly visible enterprise app.. pfft..
notes is a pile of ****, the only people using it still are those way behind the curve of other good groupware apps.
actually there are some big companies using it, and finding it fine for what they need. Prudential PLC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prudential_plc), in the UK (a large financial company) is one example.

I'm in.
2009 Mac Pro Octo 2.26 reporting for duty.
alright! that machine should put out some good points! as mentioned before, there's no bigadv for Mac OS X right now, only windows and linux. so if you are running snow leopard, you can still run the smp client, and with a passkey, you'll still get a bonus
I'll have my new i7-2600k computer coming online sometime next week after I complete its construction and thorough testing (ahem.. overclocking..). All of the parts for it are arriving today (including the new revised SB motherboard finally!), but except for unfortunately the ram is coming via USPS and is currently in Ontario, CA bound for northern CA so it may be here on saturday but I'm not optimistic. I'm pretty excited for this actually, this will be (relatively speaking) the fastest computer I've ever had.
great! from what i hear, you should get a nice overclock on that! let us know how it goes!

Hello, it is of my understanding that outlook keeps all of my emails saved locally on the computer. Is this true?
if so, for space reasons I would like it not to save them locally, is there an option to do so?

Dear Macrumors,
To avoid confusion in the future, please consider relabeling "2nd Generation" or "2G" items as "Generation 2" or "G2" items.
This will help prevent future confusion on iPods and other accessories.
Thank you.

You need one with an external power adapter.
Any of them will work, I recently got me a 4-port USB hub from CnMemory: http://www.cnmemory.de/seite_416en-0-a0.html

Well based on the news that Apple's new NC data center was the largest for a single company. I would say yes.
Largest single data center != largest storage capacity.
According to this link (http://www.numberof.net/number-of-gmail-users/), there are ~170 million Gmail users. Lets say each as 250MB of email in their archive. I am assuming this would be a close average overall. That is 41,503,906.2 GB, or 39.58 PB.
Keep in mind, this does not include the movies (YouTube), Search Indexes or any of the other large-scale services that Google offers.

Reading through this thread, I was wondering how many people defending the iPad are actually aware of its inherent shortcomings for professional users , and have actually used programs like Photoshop .
The iPad was never meant to be used by professionals, it is not compatible with pro apps and devices on a basic level, like colour spaces, connectivity, file import/export, tethering, to name a few .
As it's been pointed out before, finger gestures are a crutch, not an enhancement, just like they were since the introduction of trackpads .
SJ called the iPad a post-PC computer - nothing could be further from the truth.
It might help to develop better input devices in the future, but right now Apple doesn't seem to be part of it, aiming their products at a retro oriented crowd which is merely asking for simplification, instead of progress.
^This. Well stated.
I live in Lightroom and Photoshop. (I literally earn my living with them).
i do believe the "pros" are missing the point here though. photoshop can be very useful to a lot of people right now.
We don't care about how useful the iPad is to "other" people. Good for them. The iPad is a consumer device designed for the general consuming public and always will be. It will never replace the tools "imaging specialists" need.
The argument seems to be that I need to adopt the iPad and adapt to its shortcomings for my field while waiting for current technology to be included in subsequent versions. And as a pro, if I don't then I'll be left in the dust.
LOL!
The problem is a lot of people want the iPad to be more than it is. I fully understand it's one of those devices that leaves you begging for more but at the end of the day it's just a tablet with all the inherent shortcomings associated with it's weak features and intended market.
It's really that simple.
you don't always have access or want to carry the 15 pound camera bag, the 5 pound laptop and the wacom tablet.
Then these people aren't pros. This is what we do. I would sooner shed some weight elsewhere than use a silly-assed iPad instead a laptop with 1 TB of disk storage, SD slot, the CPU to handle multiple loads in PhotoShop, burn the occasional proofs to DVD for a client, etc... And not to mention, the ability to tether with my cameras to the laptop should I need to.
